Since 2023, Pontificia Universidad Javeriana has been participating as a beneficiary in an Erasmus+ Capacity Building for Higher Education project called I-MAT (Innovative Mobility Attracting Tools for Latin America). The project’s main objective is to share good practices among the 9 universities that are part of the consortium (from 6 different countries) to attract students, academic, and non-academic staff to mobility initiatives through digital and innovative approaches.

As part of Work Package 5 of the project, from May 14th to 17th, 2024, Pontificia Universidad Javeriana welcomed trainers from Instituto Superior Técnico (Portugal) and Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Lithuania), alongside trainees from our University and Universidad de los Andes. A total of 16 trainees immersed themselves in various aspects of internationalization, including Management of Internationalization with Technology, Internationalization of the Curriculum, Student and Staff Mobility Management and Support, and Internationalization Communication. The training program builds on insights gathered from a Pilot Workshop held at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University in November 2023, where representatives from the consortium universities shared valuable practices.

Throughout the training program, participants engaged in interactive sessions, group activities, and role plays to apply their knowledge and exchange best practices. This collaborative environment facilitated mutual learning and discussion among participants, enriching their understanding of innovative approaches to internationalization.

The knowledge gained during the program will undoubtedly enhance the ability of participants to better support students, academic and non-academic staff, and academic/administrative units in their internationalization interests within their institutions.

Pontificia Universidad Javeriana reaffirms its commitment to promoting collaborative global work and international cooperation in higher education, aiming for a more interconnected and enriched academic landscape.
